“We set up our own business from scratch in 1993, so we know what it is like out there, and our advice is based on practical experience as well as professional knowledge. I’m responsible for the technical, professional and compliance side of our work and head up most of our support team in this respect. My role is to make sure that we act as a secure safety net for you and your business,
helping you to reduce the burden of red tape and manage the compliance of your tax, accounting and business affairs. I work with many clients on their business plans and financial forecasting needs, particularly with raising funds in mind. We are owner-managers ourselves so our clients are precious to us. Consequently they are the focus of everything that we do. We are a very modern practice but we see nothing wrong with so-called ‘old fashioned’ ideas of customer service.”

“Rowena is right. Keeping clients at the very heart of our business is what it is all about. We originally set up our business because we were frustrated at the gap that existed between accountants and their clients. We enjoy working with, and alongside, our clients and see very little fun in a reactive, distant role. I’m responsible for the advisory side of the firm, concentrating on the issues that hold back clients’ businesses and the things that cost them time and money. The success of our own business depends entirely on us helping our clients to become successful themselves so we work with them to create and carry out the actions that will lead to that success. I’ve seen, and been involved in, hundreds of business situations and I bring that outside perspective and knowledge to the client’s business.


The Team:

“We’ve recently changed our organisational structure at progress from the traditional model involving a management tier to a much flatter one where our team members work direct with the partners. Businesses need to constantly evolve and we believe that reducing the tiers leads to better communication and a more effective client response.

To be totally client focussed we have to deliver exactly what clients want, when they want it, and, on occasions, when they didn’t even know that they needed it! We therefore have to be knowledgeable, professional and flexible. Our team is a mixture of youthful enterprise, experience and sound professionalism, kept flexible by mixing home-grown staff with the specialist expertise of our independent strategic partners. It is important to us that we work in a relaxed, friendly environment and this seems to rub off onto our clients. We get told that we don’t seem like other accountants and we take this as a compliment.”
